Slight Setback

Just as things were getting done, we find out that there is a leak in our basement. Unfortunately we cannot find out where it is coming from but it was on one of the walls that we had some cracks repaired. now I'll ahve to cut open the drywall and see if the insulation is wet. If so then it might be a crack, if it is just from the floor, it might mean bigger problems....FOUNDATION issues!!! Arrgghh!! Plus I think it might have been from the neighbour piling their sidewalk snow onto our side and as the snow melts.....

Almost There!

well the basement renos are SLOWLY coming along and hoping to get it done before the end of the month. Just a few things to do and we should be good.

I'm working on putting the doors in. It's kind of a hassle because some of the rough openings for the doors are WAY off and I have to cut them so they are bigger. It takes some time but it's worth it so i don't have to trim the doors down themselves. Just a few more and then I'll be good...

Then comes the trim and baseboards. I borrowed some tools so that will surely help with getting things done faster. it sure is slow when you don't have the right tools and you are trying to get things finished off.

Carpet has been measured and hopefully installed within a few weeks. We chose a color (taupe) but I think it might be too dark for the floor....hmmm...something to consider before actually getting it ordered. Still waiting for Home Depot with a quote for the cost for carpet install.

Well other than that things are looking up for the basement. Our place is still very dusty because I've been cutting things and such and dust is still flying around. I'll be VERY glad when everything is done!!!!
